READ THE NEXT POST FIRST

So, my bee thumb-attacks have not arrived yet, but they will adorn the plaque and the trash can. I'm also looking all over on line for some pretty floral paper with bees on it to decoupage onto the trashcan. Now that I look at the pictures, it doesn't look all that great. Oh, well. How long do you think the double-stick tape will hold that plaque on the door?

BATHROOM PROJECT

OK, these are the things I didn't buy for my bathroom. The trash can was $69.00 and the "Loo" plaque was $30.00. (It's kind of ugly, anyway.)
Instead, I went to Michael's and found a little metal planter thing and a wood plaque, bought some paint, rub- on letters and some bee thum-tacks and 30$ later - voila! Of course, I'd like the pictures to go here, but since I don't know how to do that, they'll be on my next blog, which you'll see before you've read this, but, oh well.

Spencer in California

So Spencer is in CA now for the summer to work for Boeing again and he bought this yesterday. I wish he'd sent me a picture of the helmet, too.

GREAT WEEKEND

What a fun weekend this was. Kelly came out to visit and we saw a fantastic production of "Madam Butterfly" put on by the Houston Ballet. It was outside at a theater in a park. FREE!
It was so beautiful.

The next day, Sunday, was Annie's 21st birthday. Since she is in the middle of finals she couldn't really celebrate, so we'll make up for it when we get together for Rachel's graduation.

I had a nice Mother's Day. We went to a great little restaurant for brunch, then just spent a relaxing afternoon with Kell till she had to go to the airport. I talked to all the kids. Spencer is moving out to Marina del Rey this weekend to start his summer internship with Boeing. Nathan is finishing up his school year really well. And Rachel is just holding her breath till graduation.

In two weeks I'll be in MB for the summer. I feel torn because I'm just getting settled here. We are getting ready to start demolition on the yard and garage and change some things in the kitchen, as well as get some things built in to the master closet. Besides that, I enjoy the weekends here with Dave so much. But I'm also looking forward to being in CA with my neighbors and just being there with the kids all summer. I don't know. I guess it's actually a pretty good dilemma to be in.

Lola stinks. But Dave is teaching her how to whisper.

AND WE HAVE A WINNER!

Claire is right - Dwight. Who else could it be, really? (And actually, he said both of them).

OK, next mystery quote:

"Walk on the left side after dark,
You won't wind up playing the harp"

Here's a little clue. This person is also known for "nip it - you just got to nip it in the bud"

This is also from a TV show.

HAPPY MAY!

This is the third time I have tried to post this today. I hope I don't accidentally erase this one, too.

Last week we had our furniture delivered to the new house. (Pretend there's a picture here). Then a couple of days later we went to Ca. to see Rachel as the #1 Mission Doll. It was a surprisingly good rendition of Guys and Dolls, considering how many kids they had to work from. Rachel's voice is perfectly suited to Sara's songs. In this case, I actually do have a picture:

How come I can't put the picture here? It always goes to the top, dammit! So now I'm adding a picture of our dinner before the play. (Pretend it's here) It was fun to have some Brady Family come out to see it with us. Rachel was fabulous.

I'm having lots of fun getting settled in the house. Dave and I spent all weekend getting things arranges, put away, hung, etc. We are meeting with contractors to find someone to redo the kitchen for us and maybe the back yard. If we moved the garage we could move the fence back and have a bit of space for grass, or maybe even a pool. But it is a comfy place. This weekend Kelly and Spencer will drop in for a little visit. That will be fun.
